  1. Long ago the people of this district were clothed in frieze and coarse light blue cloth manufactured at home and dyed with indigo. The women wore cottons more generally than snuffs, and all were tolerably supplied with linen. Linen weaving being carried on in private dwellings (from local history lesson).
These is one tailor in our district. This tailor lives at home. He does not stock the cloth, neither is the cloth locally spun nowadays. A machine, needle and cloth are always close to his hand.
Shirts are made in the homes and stockings are knotted locally. There are no spinning mills in the district nowadays.
Swallow tailed coats are worn at festivals and black is worn at the death of a relative.
