    "The Wren Boys" do not go round this district on St Stephen's Day. The men go off hunting and shooting on this day. It is a day for parties, Land Trees??? etc.
    ST BRIGID'S DAY
    ST PATRICK'S DAY
    On this day everyone wears a shamrock in honour of the Saint. It is a holiday for everyone. The people go to church in the morning and the evening is spent in enjoyment as Lenten rules are not observed for the day.
    SHROVE TUESDAY
    On this day pancakes are tossed and wedding celebrated.
    ASH WEDNESDAY
    Lent begins with fasting and prayer.
    HOLY THURSDAY
    This day is spent in a very solemn manner
