  1. Local History records a private school at Tyhallon in which about 20 children were taught, but there is now no record of where this school was situated - It has also been referred to as a Latin school
    Our school was built in 1821.
    Before this school was erected the school was conducted in a little house which is situated near by.
    In the early days of the National School there were four schools in Tyholland - our school, and the others viz - Leitrim N.S, Lappan N.S. and Fedoo N.S and about 340 children were taught in them.
    These schools are still in existence
    There is no record of Hedge School or Hedge school-masters-
