    1. The chicken-leaf was believed by the old people to cure an abscess. They used to make a poultice of it., and press it to the abscess.
    2. Woodbine is used to cure pharcy, or swollen stomach, in horses. There are are lot of people in the parish of The Rower able to use that cure. Patrick Predergas, Mangan is very good.
    3. The wild poppy cures a sty on the eye by pressing it to the eye.
    4. The dandelion cures bad lungs.
    5. The prod of a gooseberry thorn cures a sty on the eye also. It is the eye that should get the prod.
    Other Cures.
    1. A spider's web was used for stopping a bleeding finger. It is very seldom done now.
    2. Bread and boiling water pressed against anything swollen takes away the swelling. It is very good for blood-poison. Linseed-meal is good for the same thing.
    3. Starch is good for healing a cut if it is not too deep.
    4. Soot is very good for the blood. It cleans it and makes it red.
