- There was once an old woman who lived in a little thatched cottage in the wood.
The house was left so long without being thatched that a lot of nice, fresh, green, grass grew on the thatched roof.
Her only possession was a red cow. One day when the woman had no grass or hay to give to her cow; she said she would coax the cow up to the nice grass on the roof, for the ground was very high at the back of the house.
When she had got the cow up on the roof, she got a rope and tied one end of it around(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile) - Bailitheoir
