  1. James O'Connor: Nephew of Sherlock already mentioned. An ex-navy man nearly seventy. Has not been around here for the past two years owing to an accident. He was knocked down by a motor nearly Killarney and left there. He was picked up and taken to Killarney hospital and is now walking with the aid of sticks. he makes many useful things out of wire including brushes the bristles of which are made of horse hair; grid irons, etc. He can mend shoes as good as any she maker, makes tables, chairs etc and carries a set of sweeping brushes for cleaning chimneys. He was born in Queenstown. His mother was and Cork woman and his father a Kerry man. He went to school to the Christian Bros. and every evening he visited the quay where merchant ships came in. Here
