   The people use to come to the forge for forge water and not speack to anyone and sprinkle it on a cow that had paralysis. Smiths were always looked upon as being strong. The people used to come to the forge and tell stories.

   There are three tailors in the parish. There names are Michael Coogan, Uskerty, Coon, Bagenalstown, Co. Kilkeeny. Nicholas Cody, Ballyfoyle, Co Kilkenny and Mr Michael Mac Donald Welsborough, Ballyfoyle, Co Kilkenny. They work in their own homes the things they use are a neddle a tacking needle, a tape, a lap board, a sawing machine, a timble, and a pressing iron. The way they used the timble is, they put the needle against the side of the thimble instead of the bottom of it. A lap board is used for putting inside the clothes and a damp cloth outside and then it is pressed with an iron. They do not stock cloths but Mr. Coady stocks clths now. The flax was
