A girl was working with woman one time. This day the woman was going to town. There was soup down and when the woman was going out she told the girl to put pepper on the soup when it would boil. There was a dog named pepper in the kitchen. When the soup was boiling she caught the dog and put him in the pot. When the woman came home she asked the girl did she put pepper on the soup. "I did mam" she said and I had a terrible job with him. I had to put the griddle on him.
