    About seventy years ago people flocked from all parts to a well in the townland of Gortmore. They came on Midsummer night and drank some of the water. This water prevented headaches until Midsummer Night the following year when they all returned again.
    This old custom does not still survive but the well has the same name - Planxty Well.
