    They sang so loud and bonny oh.
    They sang so sweet so very very sweet.
    That they charmed the heart of a lady oh.

    When Charlie rode home late at night
    Enquiring for his lady oh
    She's gone she's gone.
    Said his own servant man.
    She's away with the gipsy laddy oh.
    3.
    Saddle for me the milk white steed.
    The brown one is ne'r so speedy oh.
    And I will ride for the lenght of the night.
    To I find my own wedded lady oh.
    4.
    He rode east and he rode west.
    He rode north and southward oh.
