    were placed along each side of the main stays. Then a number of finer rods were closely platted across these. The basket was hollowed from the hoop to the centre. Then two handles were closely platted one on each side of the basket, for carrying purposes.

  2. Very many years ago a man named Fineghan who lived in Co Omagh was a basket maker. He made the baskets with twigs and sticks which he bent any way he wanted. He made very many shapes of baskets and some of the shapes are in use yet.
