  1. Lord Hope was the landlord of our district for about fifty yearys. He was a good landlord.
    When the farmer's sons and daughters grew up and got married, their father would give them a piece of their own land. They would give the married couple a little help to build a small house. The two people would strive to live on the small piece of land. In this way the estates got over populated. The landlords agreed to pay the passage for the evicted ones to America, or to some other country.
    Lady hope, the landlord's mother left the estate to him.
