    attract the poor fish and each kind has a name such as Bull-dog, Thunder and Lightning etc for Salmon and Blue-Bottle, Butcher etc for trout.
    Bait fishing is fishing in a flood with a worm instead of a fly, and a dark day with a southern or western breeze is the most suitable day for fishing.
    A fisherman must have a great fund of patience and optimism for though often "he fishes all day and catches nothing" he sets out for the river on the next day filled with hope of success.
