  1. Once upon a time there was a woman coming home late at night from Ballymote. As she was coming along, she heard a step coming behind her and she got great courage as she thought that it was her husband. She looked back but she could see nothing and she got afraid and she began to run. She ran until she reached home. Her husband was in bed, she wakened him and he got up. She up and told him what had happened her. He told her to turn around. This she did. A briar was fastened to her clothes.
