  1. Captain Blinnor Hasset was the land agent of Reen Ballykissane and Ballymacprior. He was out boating with his two servants, he had a gun. At Castlemaine Harbour they landed to eat their lunch, one of the men named Costello went out in the boat, turned and the man went down, the Captain rushed out to save him, but Costello was mad, and both went down.
    The Monument is in memory of Captain Blinnor Hasset. The date is 1880.
