The king asked the people “do they know any one that didn’t come.” One man said that he knew a poor boy in the wood that didn't come. The king sent for him. The man handled him very rough so he didn't come. The king himself went for him. He came. The girl knew him. The lock fitted his hair, the piece of cloth fitted his coat. Jack and the girl got married; they lived very happy together. They had plenty of everything.
