  1. "When Finn Mac Ceumh[?] used to go hunting round Ireland he sometimes would stop at Sheemore and spend the night in a cave there.
    One night he stayed there as usual and in the morning, he washed himself. He was so big and needed so much water, that when he threw it away it formed a little lake, which is still to be seen at the foot of Sheemore.
    In the old days there was a guest house on the side of Sheemore. Moran who owned it, kept a light burning all night to guide wayfarers in this lonely district. All who came were welcome and received refreshment. There is a story
