  1. St. Michael is the patron Saint of the parish of Ardcarne. It is said that he lived in a small hut about two hundred yards from the village of bootehall. Some people say that he had his little home where the church of bootehall is situated at the present time.
    Some people say that it was St. Michael who built the church in bootehall and it was called St. Michael's Church. The church was once the house where he lived. After some time he built a little church from it. Year after year he made it bigger until he had it built. People say that it took him five years to build it.
    It is said that this Saint had a short leg. A story is told about him in the district. One day he caught a rabbit in a trap and
