They make their tents by sticking strong sallies in the ground and covering them with canvas, and then they go to the farm houses which are convenient to them and they ask for a bed of hay or straw.
The tents are not as plentiful now as they were formerly they make a kind of a wooden house on wheels for themselves nowadays called a caravan.
Their way of living is the men make tin-gallons and porringers and the women sell them. The women often have a basket of necklaces, broaches, hair-slides, tie-pins, collar buttons, camfer delph and picture frames. The men also mend leaking gallons.
