“Funny Stories about a local character called Micky Walls long since dead.”
There was a man who lived in Glenfarne (5 miles from Kiltyclogher). His name was Micky Walls. One day he and two neighbours were working on a road. A messenger came out of a house nearby and called in one of the men to his dinner. The other man said to Micky "Those people are very mean. They never gave anyone a bit to eat yet" "Oh! well" said Micky "I am going up to the house now and I bet you what you like, I'll get my dinner." "I bet you a bob you won't" said the man "but let me in before you to light my pipe. You might play tricks." "Alright" said Micky. "I bet they ask me to eat a bit." The man went into the house and said to the woman "Here is Micky Walls coming up the lane, pretent you don't know him." Micky came in and sat down.
