- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)when he opened the door he was greatly surprised to see a man standing in the floor with a light in his head and thought it as a ghost or some queer figure. He (made) was very frightened and ran for help from the neighbours. He made them bring guns and picks, and lots of weapons. When they arrived the man was gone and the neighbours did not believe him at all. The old man said if this would happen three nights after one another he would never go to visit at night again. This happened all right and he never went to visit at night again. Then the young men annoyed him terribly after this and he had to settle in his will that he would leave some money to each of the men.
- There lived in Connemara an old priest. He was death down in any body that was selling poteen. he would put a terrible penance inany body who was selling it. He knew that the women were the worst for selling it. He was death down in one woman beacuse he thought that it was she that was selling the most poteen. Every time he heard her confession he put a terrible penance on her. Then a new curate came to this parish and the the old priest told him(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
