- Nearly everyone is able to make some kind of play instrument.
You can make a pop-gun out of a piece of a stick and a piece of a feather from a goose's wing.
It is called a pop-gun because the shots are made from little pieces of potatoes.
You can make a bow-and-arrow from two pieces of sally switches and a piece of string.
It wouldn't kill anything but you could fire at a cock shot with it. It fires about ten yards.
A catter-pulse is an implement for firing small stones. It is made of two strapes of rubber out of a motor tube, a small piece of leather, and a "gablóg" (a forked piece of timber).
It can kill a bird if you have a good shot with it.
