  1. Buying and Selling.
    Buying and selling is carried on not only in Ireland but all over the world. In some places it is carried on more extensively than in others and it is carried on fairly extensively in this district also.
    The fairs held convenient to this district are in Carndonagh and Moville, and in former times the most important fair in Innishowen was held at a place called Carrickmacquigley. The fairs are now held in Moville on the last Thursday of each month. The fairs in Carndonagh are held on the first Monday of each month and there are quarterly fairs held on the twenty first of every third month also.
    Buying and selling of cattle, sheep, horses, and pigs is carried on at these fairs between the dealers and the people who own the animals. Some farmer
