Ned was seen going into a public house, with a can. The owner of the house kept cows and so the police thought he was going for milk. He went every day and continued for a long time, until at last a policeman asked him what was in the can. He said that it was full of sweet milk, but when the policeman took of the lid to look, he found to his surprise that it was full of stout.
