If you are driving a horse at night and he gets very frightened, with sweat pouring out through him, the reason is that he has seen a ghost which is invisible to you. If you look through the horse's ears you may also see the ghost. Sometimes the ghost may sit in the back of the cart and then the horse finds it very difficult to pull the cart even though there may be no other load on the car.
