  1. Tallow Co. Waterford

Long ago my uncle and a friend of his were coming home late one night.

Long ago my uncle and a friend of his were coming home late one night. They stopped opposite a house. There was an old woman keening inside after her husband who was buried a few days before. My uncle and his friend were laughing at the old woman and who just then stood before them but the old man who had died. They ran to the first house the men and got such a fright that they were afraid to go home that night. My grandfather was very upset when they didn't turn up.
