My great-grandmother was going into a field between eleven and twelve o'clock one night.

My great grandmother was going into a field between eleven and twelve oclock one night. As she turned in the gate of the field she saw an old woman who was dead about twenty years sitting on a stone knitting a stocking. She wore a white frilled cap and a black shawl. Her eldest son John was with her. She asked him if he saw anything but he said no. She did not tell him fearing he would get very frightened.
