She quickened her paces before me,
I told her to take her time,
But the more I advanced to discourse her,
The quicker she made her way.
    IV
In sweet Cappaquin I embraced her,
And I called for a crúiscín lán,
If I called for ten gallons of porter,
This damsel would pay for all,
I found her so civel and jovial,
I asked her to be my own,
I told her I held a large farm,
As long as the lease would hold,
I told her I had cattle and corn,
And money that no Lady knows,
“And I’ll make you as snug as warm,
As if you owned all Lismore”.

While Katty and I were discoursing,
She smiled at me now and then,
Her apron strings she kept folding,
And turning them round in a ring,
    She called for another jorum,
Till Katty and I got pleased,
We slept till the market was over,
And all the turkeys were sold.
