  1. A Song

There's a dear spot in Ireland, I long to be there, Where the scent of the roses is found everywhere.

    I
There's a dear spot in Ireland, I long to be there,
Where the scent of the roses is found everywhere,
And the boys in the alley play old Irish airs,
I dance with the music, my heart free from care,
It’s the town of Lismore, the place of my birth,
And to me there’s no fairer spot on, this earth,
    II
Oh, how can I leave it, to return never more,
For I have learned to love dearly
    The town of Lismore.
