    The grandeur of the mountain high, the richness of the plain.
    The verdure of the valleys fair, bright Flora's own domain,
    The rush of glorious waters bright the woodlands sweetest shade.
    The grotto where in other days the saintly hermit prayed.
    Glad music's thrill, proud belfry's peal the noble house of God.
    Are mem'ries hovering round the ways old Erin's saints have trod.
    These glorious, these lovely things, great gifts in endless store.
    Are yours - supremely yours they are - famed City of Lismore.

    Go stand asthore where I have stood beyond the Castles pile,
    And turn you east or turn you west afar for many a mile,
    And then about the raptures wild that in your heart arise.
