  1. A Local Song

Goodbye sweet Lismore hills and vales, Knockmealdown mountains and Mellery Plains.

Goodbye sweet Lismore hills and vales,
    Knockmeal-down mountains and Mellery Plains,
And when I am out on the deep blue sea,
Oh Lismore I will think of thee,
And of those mountains hills and valleys
And those fair scenes enjoyed before,
Those stately Castle’s and proud Blackwater,
Home of my birth, beloved Lismore.
    Nora Willoughby,
    Chapel Street,
    Lismore,
    Co. Waterford.
