    On Sundays when he used to preach,
    The Word of God he loved to teach,
    Distinct and fluent was the speech
    Of Father Mockler.
    It pleased the Lord that he should die,
    With none, save, his bright angel nigh,
    No earthly friend to say "Good-bye"
    To Father Mockler.
    Altho' he's gone his mem'ry'll stay
    To be revered for many a day
    And every heart I'm sure will pray
    For Father Mockler.
