until Ellen Brogan came out through the window. There was a man going around selling tea at that time and he came on the scene. When he heard the children were within he rushed in through the flames and found four of the children dead at the fire and brought them out. Two of the boys were gone away minding cows and they were safe. When the parents heard it they came home. The people of the village managed to save Dan Brogans. All Ellen Brogan's house was burned.
