  1. There was a monastery in James O Hara's farm. The land in which the monastery was is never tilled. The ruins are plain to be seen. There is a wall four feet in height and round it are heaps of stones covered with moss. There are hills both sides of the stones an a hollow in the middle. The stones are mostly all there yet. Some few of them are made into a wall to keep the cattle from the ryegrass that grew in it. The people in this locality do not know what kind of monks were in the monastery. The time of the Cromwellian wars the monks were beheaded and the monastery burned and smashed down.
