The herbs that grow on good land are the dock leaf, the ferrybawn the buachallán, and the thistle. The herbs which grow on bad land are nettle, black head, shellystring and chicken weed. There is a cure in broom for a pain in the back. Pull it boil it in hot water and drink it. People boil nettles and give them to young ducks.

John Connor (60) Rathermond - I play a game called four-corner fool. Four boys stand on four stones. The stones are the same distance apart. Another boy stands on a stone in the middle, and he is called the fool. At a signal the four boys rush from one stone to another.
