    My grandfather Robert (Robin) was married to Jane Kelly, daughter of old John Kelly of Derrymore (now Merrymure). He died about 1840. Old John (Johnnie) Kelly was originally, I think, a cooper - when a good business. He had come to Derrymure I think, from Cappy near Coroneary. He was married three times. My grandmother was the daughter of his first wife. She had a brother named Robert (Bob) Kelly who was a noted person during the troubles of '94 and '98. He was very near being taken in Oliver Bond's house in Dublin, but made good his escape. He was a good while in the Rock house (my grandfather's) before he got making his escape to America where he succeeded well. He had two sons Robert and William - both became very noted in New York history. They became men of good position and learning.
