About a mile from our house in the townsland of Gneeve there lived a man who was commonly called the "poet Kelly." This man usually made poems or rhymes about people in the district.
Some twenty years ago when the people drove the cattle off the land in Donone so that it would be divided among the poor people this man wrote a song to celebrate the event. Then he was put into prison and while he was there he composed songs in praise of Father Barton who was then the Parish Priest of Castle-(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
