    (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)
He saw one tiny spark in the fire. He fed the fire with bits of moss as he had seen the hunter do. Then he fanned the fire with his wings. He had to go so near the fire that he scorched his breast. When the hunter woke up he was surprised to find the fire burning brightly and the birds singing around. That is how the robin got his red breast.
This is another story about the robin. Once there was a man and a woman married. They had two children a boy and a girl. The father died and the mother died a few years after. The uncle said that he would take care of them. The uncle was a wicked man and he hated the children. He sent for two wicked men and told them that they would get money if they killed the childern. The men took the children into a lonely wood. When they reached the wood one of the men did not want to kill the childern but other man did. Then they fought. The man who did not want to kill the children won and he killed the other man. The man who won stayed in the wood for a little spell but afer awhile he got lonely
