- The farmer keeps many animals such as:- horses, cows, sheep, calves, pigs and donkeys.
The horses and cows are the two principal animals. These two animals are cared well. In winter they are kept inside by night from the cold.
The feeding for horses is furze, hay, oats, mangels and grass. In the middle of winter horses are clipped with a clipping machine. In summer they are left out on grass.
The feeding for cows is in winter is hay, turnips, mangels crushed oats and meal.
In winter when the sheep have lambed they are put in by night. They are given oats. The calves are also put in by night and given turnips, mangels and hay. Most farmers keep a sow or two. (N) All farmers fatten pigs. The cows are tied with(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
