- There was once a farmer who lived in Kerry. He had an only daughter. He also had a big farm and there was a lios in it. He kept a pig. It was Christmas time and the farmer and his wife and daughter went to the town for the Christmas messages. As they were passing a public house the farmer and his wife went in for a drink and the girl stayed outside. She told them not to be long. So when they came out she was angry with them for being so long. They went home together and when the daughter got up next day she was unable to walk. From that day until the fifteenth day of April the girl was very bad. She was unable to eat anything. The doctor and nurse attended to her every week. They had her given up for death. The farmer got a servant boy for sticking the sgiollans and they ran short of sgiollans so they sent the servant boy home for(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
