    A funny story
    This is a funny story I was told last night. About 60 years ago there was a parish priest in Elphin, and a tailor named Johnny Dooner called to his house one evening to do a message for him. Johnny was very fond of whiskey and the parish priest (Rev. Joseph Canon Egan) knew this well. So when Johnny hd his message done, the priest took a bottle of whiskey in his hand and poured out a glass for Johnny, he just thought it a good opportunity to give Johnny a piece of wholesome advice about his fondness for whiskey. So when Johnny had the glass of whiskey drank, the priest said "Now, Johnny, you must know that every glass of whiskey you take puts a nail in your coffin" "Musha", says Johnny in reply, "God bless you, your reverence as you have the hammer in your hand maybe y'd put
