A song
O' have you seen this gentleman.
Who came into Elphin,
He's really very pretty.
But he wears an awful grin,
The first day that he landed,
He got some royal cheers,
Some were cursing, some were praying and some were shedding tears,
when he came outside the barracks,
He got a great shakehands.
From the royal Irish,
And the charming Black and Tans. These lines were formed by Mary Tansey of Carramore, Elphin, Co. Roscommon. On the occasion of the Black and Tans being in Ireland. John Dorr
