    Candles were made in this district long ago. The people had a small pot or calm. When the people killed a pig they kept the fat.
    They melted the fat in this pot or calm. When it was melted they poured in a little reisin. This the boiled for two hours. The made a wick of twisted flax. This they dipped into the pot or calm When it was thick enough they rolled the on a flat board. When the candles were lit they burned splendidly.
