  1. About seventy years ago, There was a great wind storm. It knocked down all the trees in "gaoithe" planting. It tossed many old houses and tore many slates off good houses. The people had to stop at the backs of ditches hold on to bushes.
They got such a fright while the wind lasted that ever since they would not sleep in their houses on a windy night. The wind did much harm. There were people and cattle killed, hay and corn stacks were blown away. The country was left desolate in many parts.
