  1. There were people one time living in Tully. They could not get butter no matter how they churned the milk. Some one told them to go to the house that they thought the witches were in and to take three straws from the door head and to go on the bare feet.
    The man of the house did so. He got the three straws and he began to run.
    A crowd of cats followed him and every time he left his foot on the ground the cats stuck their paws in his heel.
    At last he dropped the straws. He went home and he was not able to put on his shoes for a year.
