    rebels marched from Wexford to Castlecomer The camped for a night in Bawnree, the camp was on the Commons of Baunreagh, in an eight acre field now owned by William Bergin. In Knockadoinin, in a field owned by William Mullins is a low mound known locally as the "Croppies' Grave" or "the grave of the Wexfordmen." In this grave are buried two or three Wexfordmen, who were overtaken and killed here by local yeomen. Some others of the Insurgents were killed at a quarry now owned by Simon Carroll, Barnafea. As the Insurgent Army was marching at a fast pace past the house of Mrs Lyng in Cuttenclough one of the Insurgents rushed over to the door carrying a dead goose on the head of his pike. He threw the goose in over the half-door and shouted. "Have that cooked for us when we're coming back." and departed. The house is still owned by the Lyng family.
