    the other half with goods out of the shops.
    Long ago old men came around to gather up rags. When the ragman would be coming up the street or over the roads he would shout "Gather them up! gather them up". He never comes around now. Sometimes women used to come around and collect rags and give delf in exchange for them.
    Not far above Monaseed there was a little shop which belonged to people called Cullens. A neighbour gave them a room in his house for a little shop. It was very important because it was the only shop around the district in those days.
