  1. About a hundred years ago there lived a man in the townland of Tubberpatrick Kilpipe parish named Art Kavanagh. At that time these was a landlord named Lord Fithwilliam. His agent evicted this man and knocked down the walls of his house.
    That night the poor man came back and went in among the cattle for warmth. Next morning the people to whom the farm was given found him in the bales, where the cattle had trodden on him and killed him. When the landlord heard this he said never again would there be evictions on his estate and he kept his word.
