    names of the potatoes that are planted in this district are - Aran bamners, British Queens, The champions, The shamrocks, Kerrs Pinks.
    Summer care of potatoes.
    When the potatoes come over the ground the farmer knocks the tops off the drills. After that he will get the schoolboys to weed or hoe them.
    When they have them done they will put the clay over them again. In the month of July when the stocks are big and strong, he will have to spray them to keep blight off them. All the weeds that are left are taken off them.
