- One of the old crafts long ago was weaving linen. My grandfather and great grandfather were weavers, they used to weave linen shirts, towels, tablecloths, check for aprons and finer linen for old women's caps.
They used to travel from one town to another on market and fair days sellling the linen.
They had a loom for making the linen, it was resting on four poles, it was made of wood, there were rollers on it, and two peddles in which they worked with their feet. When neighbours would come to the house they would have to wind bobbins.
